I bought adobe photoshop, and ive been taking my art and mixing it with more of my art. The results are so much fun. Take a look at two of them:
So far the big downside is that I don’t have a fancy pen and tablet to draw directly in the program, but I’m trying to figure out how to fix that. I had the opportunity to try one out at Comic Con this weekend, and now I’m in lust.
First time working with oils paints! Initial impressions? 1. It takes an incredible amount of time to dry. I did this one about two weeks ago, and it’s still tacky. 2. A little bit of paint goes a long way. 3. The colors! So luminescent! I’m in love. 4. Those pretty colors quickly descend into flat grey if over mixed. 5. It’s really hard to tell how much is too much mixing.
Bob Ross made it look so easy.
I will definitely come back to oils. I’ll keep you all posted on the results!
This year has been so green, it’s like paradise for an artist. Desert comes green is such a dream during the heat of summer or during a sandstorm. Right now, it is beautiful, but there are no illusions. This is an ephemeral gift, soon gone.
