Martian Landscapes

This series is a group of three paintings I painted one right after another. They came out stark and beautiful, and all used the same palette. The inspiration came, strangely enough from the recently reissued Life magazine’s, “Mary, Blessed Art Thou Among Women”. You can fine the link here. More specifically, the picture of Jeruselum. 

I loved the burnt Siena againgst the gold of the orange sky. And this is what came from it.

These were a joy to paint. I can only hope they’re as much of a joy to look at.
